I am about 2 months out from training. Currently, I live in New York City and will be based out of JFK. I have been really enjoying reading others blogs and wanted to start writing my own. Not being the best writer made me hesitant in starting a blog but I write in a personal journal and wanted to do this digitally because I spend so much time on my computer.
I have traveled for work before. Working for a cruise line, I feel, could only make me super prepared for the environment of working on an airplane. Most of the topics I want to discuss right now don’t have much to do with actually being a flight attendant but I can touch on them.
In about a month I will need to start looking for an apartment. Two of the people I met during the interview process have graciously decided they would like to live with me. Neither of them reside in NYC, therefore, I will most likely be looking for the three of us. The best geographical location is Brooklyn or Queens, but it is more about the subway lines. If we wanted to use public transit, We will want to stay on C, A, J, Z, E or F lines, which all bring you to the Airtran that gets you to the airport. The main neighborhoods I am going to be looking at are Bushwick, Bed-Sty, Astoria or Jackson Heights. This will be the first time I will be searching for a rental unit on my own. Not just moving in with someone else who has a room for me. I am very excited about the adulting.
I do have a cat so I am skeptical about this job and the effect it will have on my cat. Although I feel he will also be my savor.
This is my start on this journey and I will continue to document it for myself.
