Disconnect … what day is it

Traveling can present some challenges. For one I hardly ever know what day it is, especially cause I usually leave on a Sunday and they all blur together.

The other day I got into London and someone said there had been a terror attack on a train. I thought they meant 7.7 but no, someone had detonated a bomb on a train in London.

When I say I was in London I mean gatwick, which is no where near the city So of course I wasn’t in danger but it has made me think a lot how I take safety for granted.

I also take my job for granted in how it detached me from the rest of the world.

In some respects I appreciate the detachment. In others it’s quit frustrating. I am quite used to it because of my time on ships, but somehow more aware as I get older that my awareness is skewed.
